Historical Note: Here are several classic examples of very light Pacific type locomotives the Southern Pacific acquired from the El Paso & Southwestern in 1924. Formerly #141 - #149, They became SP #3101 - #3109 and comprised their entire class of P11 locomotives. Ironically, Fred Stoes captured most of his views about the same time, at the same place with three different engines about to leave Santa Cruz on early evening train #33 for San Francisco. Circa 1935 - 1936.
