Snapshot History: Two brothers started the Granite Rock Construction Company around the turn of the century at Logan, California. The Company grew and grew until finally it was split into two companys, Granite Construction and Granite Rock with one brother controlling each. Today the family continues. Granite Construction does small jobs like driveways to larger jobs like interstate highways. Granite Rock continues to supply the building and construction raw materials from sand, to aggregate, to rock. It is one of the best run corporations in the country having received many business awards for new and inovative manufacturing technics and economic policies.
