Morris August 21, 1950, Westwood, California: Fruit Growers Supply Company 2-6-0 locomotive #34, labeled here as #1, sits after 47 years of service for various owners. Locomotive #34 was originally built as #1 by Baldwin in 1903, under construction #23256, for the Quakertown & Eastern. It became Ocean Shore #4 in 1907. Sold to the San Vicente Lumber Company in 1922 at Santa Cruz. It operated until 1928 at Cromberg for the Nibley-Stoddard Lumber Company. In 1928 it was sold to Fruit Growers Supply and saw service on the Red River Lumber Co. at Westwood, California. Weight - 91,000 lbs. Cylinders - 18" by 24" (bore & stroke) Drivers - 54" (diameter) -------------------- FGS - 2-6-2 #2
