Snapshot History: Incorporated June 15, 1925 to operate 78.78 miles of existing railroad from Springfield to Loch Haven, Illinois. The track was purchased from the Chicago, Peoria and St. Louis Railroad Company. On January 23, 1930 the company fell into forclosure. from then until 1941 the line was operated by the receiver. On May 22, 1941 71.07 miles of line from Curran to Lock Haven were discontinued. The operation was reduced to 7.81 miles out of Springfield. April 1, 1942: The remaining company was sold to the Springfield and Southwestern.
