A&A 2-6-0 #7
Image, A&A RR 2-6-0 #7 at terminal/shops Order No. AA07I A nice 2-6-0 Arcade & Attica locomotive #7 is seen at rest in front of an engine terminal/shops building along with a Company passenger car. (Possibly at Arcade N.Y.) Reference: 2-6-0 #7: Baldwin, March, 1900 Cylinders: 19" X 24" Drivers: 50" Weight: 124,000 pounds TE: 25,755 lbs. Boiler Pressure: 180 lbs. Originally Reyacosville & Fall Creek #5, then Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburg #5, sold to A&A in November of 1929." The Arcade & Attica originally started as the 3-ft. gauge Tonawanda Valley & Cuba in 1881. It was later standard gauged and became the Buffalo, Attica & Arcade. It finally became the Arcade & Attica about 1917. In 1957 floods washed out the northern half of the line and it was abandoned between North Java and Attica. This eliminated its connection with the Erie at Attica and left only its connection with the PRR at Arcade. Freigh was, and is, primarily grain and feed. In 1962 they bought Boyce City Railroad 2-8-0 # 18 and went into the tourist passenger business. In 1963 they added Escanaba & Lake Superior 4-6-0 #14. The line survives today though both steamers are down for repairs and centercab diesels pull the excursion trains.
