Note: The Angelina & Neches Railroad Co. Although dating back to 1888 when it began as a narrow gauge lumber short line, The A&NR would go on to celebrate over 100 years of operation. In 1906 it was changed over to standard gauge and would reach its longest operational length of 30.63 miles in Auguast of 1912. As time went on it would expand still further with additional operational trackage rightsr. As the year 2,000 came and went the little Angelina County Texas short line would still be in service. Though it should have been an Eastern Texas lumber short line castoff years ago, surprisingly it still continues. Other known locomotives: #101 & #108

A&NR 2-6-0 #208Image, Angelina & Neches River 2-6-0 #208 Order No. ANR208I An earlier view shows Angelina & Neches River 2-6-0 Locomotive #208 somewhere along the line. The #208 was the highest number on the company roster of several steam engines. This engine was built by Baldwin in August of 1912 under builder's #38093.
