In this section I have some one-of-a-kind handmade items created by me. I have over 40 years sewing experience, and my items are very well constructed. I take extra time to make sure all seams are finished off, either as French seams, or in the case of selvage edges, turned under and top-stitched. Facings are blind-stitched by hand all the way around. All items come to you from a smoke-free environment. Each item has its own price, and I will reserve any item for the first person who wants it and lets me know that a check is in the mail. New items will be posted to this section as they become available.
Coordinating Tote Bag and Scarf Set

I designed this set for the person who can never get a bag or scarf that's big enough. The tote is made of a double layer of poplin fabric and is taupe colored. The scarf is made from a gauzey-type fabric, and I have used this same fabric to line the tote. The bag measures a generous 21" wide x 12.5" tall, with a 3.5" gusset. The handles are approximately 27" long, so there is plenty of room to carry this bag on the shoulders. I top-stitched the handles and the top of the bag. The bag closes with a large snap sewn at the center top. Both pictures show the bag lighter than it really is. It is a darker taupe color when seen in person. The scarf measures approximately 37" x 34". This generous size allows you to wear the scarf in many different ways. The colors are dark blue, taupe and cream. A scarf this size would be very hard to find in department stores. I recommend washing these items on the delicate cycle with cold water.
Large Chiffon Scarf with Buildings and Clouds

This scarf measures approximately 40" square. The print features various buildings and clouds. The colors include dark blue, light blue, aqua, pink, sienna, orange, and gold on a very light beigey neutral background. The colors have the appearance of being painted on with watercolors-so pretty. This scarf can be worn many ways because of its generous size and can be worn with many of your outfits. I have hemmed the scarf with gold polyester thread for an elegant touch. A printed scarf this size would be very hard to find and/or very expensive in department stores and boutiques.

These potholders are made from a brightly colored animal skin print. The fabric is a cotton blend and has a black background. Hearts in various sizes are printed with spots and stripes resembling wild animal skins. The colors are light pink, hot pink, light purple, dark purple, yellow and turquoise. The fabric is very bold and striking. The backs of these potholders are made of the exact same fabric. They are lined with two layers of batting. These potholders measure over 7.5" square, and each one has a 3/4" bone ring in the top center for easy hanging. These make wonderful gifts to give for holidays, birthdays, a Secret Pal, a shower gift, or to that collector that you know.

The fronts and backs of these potholders are made of the exact same vintage cotton calico fabric. The medium blue background is covered with red, yellow, and white flowers, green leaves, and tiny white dots. This is a very bright and pretty calico print from the early 80s. These potholders are lined with two additional layers of plain fabric and one layer of batting. They measure approximately 7.75" square, and each one has a 3/4" bone ring in the top center for easy hanging. The fronts and backs of these potholders are made from a vintage polyester/cotton fabric in a jungle print. The background is light beige, and the design colors are medium and dark sage, rose, and black. Jungle animals are hiding in the camouflage. These potholders are lined with two additional layers of plain fabric and one layer of batting. They measure approximately 7.75" x 7.5", and each one has a 3/4" bone ring in the top center for easy hanging. Caftan Tunic--Butterflies on White

This is a caftan tunic with a butterfly motif. The fabric is a cotton blend with a white background and covered with pastel butterflies in shades of blue, pink, yellow, green, and lavender. There are also tiny little white butterflies on the white background making for a pretty white-on-white effect. Blue metallic sparkles accent the larger butterflies. The measurements on this tunic are as follows: shoulder from neckline to end of sleeve=15.75"; length from neckline to hemline=31"; side seam to side se am=41". That's 82" around. It's very roomy and comfortable and will fit size 1X-5X. You will just love how it drapes over your body and feels so wonderful. I recommend turning this garment inside out and washing in cold water to help preserve the life of these beautiful colors. Hang on hanger to air dry and touch up with an iron if necessary.
